I am wondering what File types of sheet music I should be looking for to import into MusiCAD specifically for transposing.
I tried a MIDI file and could not figure out how to transpose that. I am learning to play the celtic harp and can only play keys with Sharps, no flats (Keys of C, G,D,A...ect)
File types for import
Re: File types for import
Any file readable with MusiCAD should do. For now this are:I am wondering what File types of sheet music I should be looking for to import into MusiCAD specifically for transposing.
- .mc - MusiCAD native file type, see the music archive http://muzarch.dse.nl
- .abc - music in ABC-notation. Most .abc-files are ready to import in MusiCAD. See http://abcnotation.com/search for more info.
- .mid - MIDI-files. However, MIDI-files can have some drawbacks... Files that are nice to listen to, most likely will give more difficulties when importing; they contain (too) many voices, effects, off-timing notes etc. MIDI-files created with some notation programs will likely generate best results.
Just hit the transpose-buttonI tried a MIDI file and could not figure out how to transpose that.
see http://www.musicad.com/how_to_transpose_music (the one with the #/b at the right top of your screen)
To transpose a tune written with 4 flats to no-flats use the transpose dialog and move 4 steps (as many step as to get rid from flats) cockwise to reach the right key. For a tune having 3 sharps, you just move one step counter-clockwise for each sharp yopu want less.I am learning to play the celtic harp and can only play keys with Sharps, no flats (Keys of C, G,D,A...ect)
