New main board / processor

I have downloaded and installed Musicad. This is the same PC as used with a licensed version of musicad with a new main board and processor and the operating system reloaded. I don't think I should re-enter the old license number as it will probably not recognise it. Please advise, I will, if need ...

License expired?

I have been using MusiCAD for about a year. When I created a new file today and tried to save it, MusiCAD appears to have gone back to demo mode - i.e., it required the entry of a code to do the save. Has the license expired or something? Licenses do not expire - at least they shouldn't. However, s...

Windows 7

Does MusiCAD 3 run on Windows 7? Yes it does. Like other pre-version-7 programs, the changed file locations and the new library storage in Windows 7 will not be handled by MusiCAD in Windows-7 style, but in Window-XP compatible style. However, most users will never notice the difference. ;) To dete...

Is there some sort of template available for lead sheets? Yes and no... For current versions you have to download and drop the template in C:\Program Files\Musys Software\MusiCAD 3.1 Pagina-Leadsheet.MSJ From then on you can use [Options|Use template] (<F2>) Page / Lead sheet OK See also http://www...

Chord placement

Your software place the chord symbol under the staff. I'm trying to build some lead sheets and need it on top of the staff. Is that possible? Sure: select [Options|text layout] push the button near [Chord symbols] set [vertical offset] to 9 (or larger) instead of -9 hit OK buttons to confirm your c...

Re: Scan to Abc

When I finally got to export an ABC file there was nothing in it but a header.
 I forgot to mention, build 626 isn't saving abc, but build 614 does. see forumtopic about saving abc

Re: Scan to Abc

I am having difficulty entering the second note. Extra notes can be entered easily using < insert > instead of < enter >, thus eliminating the need for chord-mode-switching (BTW, I never use the chord-mode button... ;) ) Hold the < shift > key while entering notes to attach them to an existing stic...

Re: Scan to Abc

MIDI real-time mode isn't really the most proficient way to use MusiCAD... :? MusiCAD was primarily designed to be used with a keyboard (the QWERTY, not the MIDI-one). MIDI-and mouse facilities were added afterwards. Use cursor keys and <Enter> for your notes, and just type the accompanying chords. ;)

You need to enable MIDI-input (the keyboard button in edit mode).

Re: Scan to Abc

But, (I told you my needs are simple) ... I am used to seeing the chords ABOVE the staff and this is one of the major things that I need. Also they are often too small for my old eyes and particularly so when they accompany guitar cords. Use <ctrl-F7> ({Options|Textlayout|Chordsymbols]) click the b...
